About the Department

The Eating Disorder Unit for children and young adults is a specialized unit with eight beds for youth aged 16-25.

The treatment period is usually up to twelve weeks, during which patients are offered a structured care program. We are part of a care chain that includes specialized outpatient and day care for eating disorders. The work on the unit is conducted in teams. The team includes doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, chefs, social workers, and psychologists. We also collaborate with dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and music therapists. We currently have an open position in our group of skilled nursing assistants.

The unit is regional and also holds the assignment of National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) for difficult-to-treat eating disorders. As part of this, there is a broad enhancement of competence levels with joint training initiatives. This spring, we have launched a family unit for patients under 16 years, resulting in a more vibrant inpatient section with internal support and collaboration. Exciting times are ahead!

What do we offer?

Continuing education is important to us, and we offer training both internally and externally in the field. We also invest in the development of mentalization-based therapy (MBT). The unit has regular group supervision. Our goal is to create well-functioning care that best meets the individual needs and conditions of the patient. In this work, nursing staff and other team members play an active role.

Job Responsibilities

Regular responsibilities for nursing assistants. The patient group often has somatic and psychiatric comorbidity, both acute and chronic conditions. You will use and develop your skills in both interaction and conversation. The work includes treatment according to the unit's care program with motivational interviewing, support for anxiety management, educational meal support, planning for leaves, and other medical and psychiatric care. The focus is to work together with the patient and relatives on set goals based on an individual care plan.

About You

We are looking for someone who is interested in developing their knowledge and enjoys working in a team. You want to try something new or enhance your skills in psychiatry and somatics and are curious about working with children and families under 16 years. You have a nursing education with a focus on psychiatry/somatics. Experience in eating disorder care or child and adolescent psychiatry is an advantage. You understand that the patient and relatives are always in focus. Experience in structured conversations is a plus. We place great importance on personal suitability.
